Treat Them To A Muffin Basket

If you have a friend or relative who’s been under the weather lately, then you will want to cheer them up with a nice gift. Flowers are always welcome, but sometimes a person can get too many bunches at once. A gift that doesn’t take up much room, disappears after you give it, and raises a smile when receiving it is a muffin basket.

 Lots of us have given or received gift baskets filled with flowers, chocolates, cookies or fruit. Muffin baskets are great for a change. They’re comforting and delicious and always welcomed. You can order them online for sending, although these baskets are usually mixed with other baked goodies like brownies.  You can also check out your local baker. They may be able to provide a variety of fresh muffins of your choice, nicely presented in a basket or gift box.

If you know your recipient’s tastes, you can get a muffin basket to suit. If you’re not sure, then get several different kinds such as muffins with chocolate, or fruit, or nuts, (taking allergies into consideration as well as tastes). Savory muffins are excellent for those who don’t have a sweet tooth. 

Of course, you don’t have to go to a bakery or gift basket specialist store to buy muffin baskets. You can make your own! It’s easy, it’s inexpensive and it’s fun. All you need to do is make a basic muffin batter, then add the flavoring ingredients. Always popular are blueberry, chocolate chip or banana, but there are many more to choose from.

Once you’ve made and cooled your muffins, arrange them in a wicker basket that you have lined with shredded paper or a new teatowel. Add some extras if you like; a packet of tea or coffee pods, perhaps, or even a decorative plate for the muffin basket recipient to put their treats on. Wrap a piece of cellophane around the basket and tie with ribbon, add a gift tag and you’re done.
